Disaster Services

□ Become a Disaster Action Team Member (respond to local disasters).

□ Become a trained disaster volunteer who responds to national level disasters.

Education

□ Help with distribution of educational information on Disaster Preparedness.

□ Assist with the HERO’s youth program.

□ Give community presentations on Red Cross health and safety topics.

Instructor Training

□ Become a certified instructor in Water Safety.

□ Become a certified instructor in CPR and First Aid programs for your community or workplace.

□ Become a certified instructor in Babysitters Training

Fund Raising

□ Assist with disaster fund raising (distribute and collect Red Cross canisters)

□ Assist with fund raising events (assist in planning or seek sponsorships) – MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE TO SEEK SPONSORSHIPS

□ Assist with financial development (as a board member or development committee member)

Public Relations/Public Affairs

□ Design and edit publications (newsletters, brochures, etc.)

□ Assist with publicity (write press releases, send publicity materials to media outlets, etc.)

□ Become trained and help with disaster public affairs

□ Photographer (digital camera preferred)

Office/Clerical

□ Assist with various clerical duties (typing, mailing, filing)

□ Assist with data entry

□ Deliver and pick up items as needed (such as postage, workplace class materials, etc.)

□ Help out from 8:30 – 10 a.m. or 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. as a receptionist answering phones, signing for packages, labeling brochures, calling students to remind them of their classes and other various clerical duties.

Youth Volunteers (14 – 18 years of age)

□ Assist with recruiting youth volunteers for the HERO’s program.

□ Teach Basic Aid Training (BAT) classes to younger children.

□ Assist with various clerical duties (typing, mailings, filing).

□ (17 and up) Become a Certified Instructor in CPR, First Aid and/or Babysitter’s Training.
